Working at Bou

When joining Bou, you'll get to work directly with our 100+ brands, ranging from early-stage companies to more established brands, universities, and nonprofits. And we really do mean directly – we don’t have key account managers or pure strategists at Bou. You'll become a part of an all-hands-on-deck team building brands through marketing, communications, design, and web development.

Daily tasks

In this design role, your typical days would include creating visual identity lines for emerging brands, applying visual identities to different digital assets, creating & concepting campaign visuals, and learning to be in direct contact with our clients. Optimally you have some experience under your belt and have some brand identity and digital projects to showcase.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of design experience – You’ve already had the chance to work in an agency or in-house team as a designer. You have worked on visual identitites, and both print and digital executions from start to finish.
  • Your goal is to become the best of the best – You compensate your lack of experience by learning very rapidly, craving for feedback, asking questions and searching answers proactively
  • You have working proficiency with design tools – working with design tools like Figma or Adobe CC already comes naturally to you
  • You go for motion when you can – you consider movement as part of a brand's visual identity, and have solid 2D animation skills to move things on websites and social media feeds
  • Client communications and project management experience – you keep a cool head under pressure, and can give and take candid feedback well. You might even have some project management experience.
  • Hunger to learn from a wide range of industries – we build brands for a great variety of products and companies, from handcrafted coffee to mobile games and waste-sorting robotics

Applications by Jan 20, 2023

We acknowledge that finding a person who ticks every box is pretty challenging. That’s why we prefer an “If I don’t know, I’ll figure it out” -attitude over having a perfectly matching CV & portfolio.

When we have an optimal candidate, it's just about finding the right time to join forces. Though, as our hands are full, we hope you could start already in early 2023.

Send your portfolio and casual free form application to work@bou.co by January 20 at latest, but bear in mind that we’ll be going through applications on a rolling basis. If you rather work as a freelancer, submit your profile here.
